IIM Udaipur has come up with a unique facility for cycling. This facility was started by a private company in IIM-Udaipur on Monday.

Known as PEDL, this special service provides cycles on a rent of 1 rupee per hour. The company’s CEO explaining the motive behind this special service said that the aim is to promote good health and also a pollution free environment. People inside the campus namely faculties and students will be encouraged to move in and around the college campus on cycles.

For the purpose of renting this cycle, one has to download an app which will facilitate in finding the nearest PEDL station. The company also specified that they are planning to take this facility ahead on a broader dimension and are going to have discussions about this with Udaipur Smart City team. The cycle is equipped with smart lock, GPS tracking and solar battery system.
