‘Inhaled Insulin Better Alternative to Daily Injections’
Medical experts discuss diabetes, osteoporosis, fertility at the13th Annual ENDO DIACON National Conference in Udaipur
Udaipur, Jan 19, 2026 - The 13th Annual ENDO DIACON National Conference, organised under the aegis of MMS The Endocrine and Diabetes Research Trust, concluded at Ramada Resort, Udaipur, on Sunday (January 18). The two-day scientific conference witnessed participation from 25 renowned faculty members representing prestigious institutions across India, along with nearly 200 delegates.
During the conference, medical experts highlighted the growing importance of “inhaled” insulin, emphasising it could significantly reduce the burden of repeated insulin injections for diabetes patients, thereby improving treatment acceptance and quality of life.
A total of nine scientific sessions were conducted, focusing on recent research advancements and modern therapies in diabetes care. The inaugural session discussed post-prandial (after-meal) hyperglycaemia, its clinical significance and effective management strategies.
Dr Atul Dhingra elaborated on inhaled insulin therapy and explained how this innovative approach could offer major relief to patients who require daily insulin injections.
A special session on osteoporosis featured Dr Alpesh from AIIMS Bhopal, who emphasised maintaining a high index of suspicion, early diagnosis and accurate assessment through DEXA scans. Dr Rahul Sahlot discussed various treatment modalities in detail.
A full symposium on obesity focused on early diagnosis, proper evaluation, lifestyle modification, calorie reduction and emerging medications such as Tirzepatide, highlighting their role in effective obesity management.
Several experts shared insights on the role of hormones in male and female infertility. Dr Deepak Khandelwal explained in detail the impact of thyroid hormone disorders on female reproductive health and fertility.
25 free paper presentations were done by medical postgraduates, providing young clinicians an academic platform to showcase their research work.
On the concluding day of the conference, Dr DC Sharma, senior consultant endocrinologist and Chairman of the trust, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all faculty members, delegates and the organising team for making the event a grand success.
Apart from Dr DC Sharma and Dr Sahlot, those involved in organising the event include Dr SK Sharma, Dr Sandeep Kansara, Dr Jai Chordia, Dr Mona Sood and Dr Vinod Bokadia.
