Mother’s Milk Bank established by Mahesh Ashram
Rajasthan’s First Mother Milk Bank, ‘Divya’ Milk Bank has been established by Mahesh Ashram, which is run by Maa Bhaghwati Vikas Sansthan in Udaipur today.
With the motive of “No infant should go to bed without Mother’s Milk”, Yog Guru Devendra Agrawal, founder of Mahesh Ashram has been working immensely for the establishment of this new Milk Bank.

With the motive of “No infant should go to bed without Mother’s Milk”, Yog Guru Devendra Agrawal, founder of Mahesh Ashram has been working immensely for the establishment of this new Milk Bank.
According to Agrawal, “Out of the 100 children born in the country, over 40 are devoid of pure mother’s milk and most of them end up losing their lives. With this new facility, we can save around 16 of them.”. He also elaborated on the nutritional value of Mother’s Milk for an infant and how important it is for the holistic growth of a newborn child.
Mahesh Ashram is an NGO that adopts ill-fated young abandoned children and raises them.
This new facility has been dedicated to all those great mothers who believe in saving each and every child’s life and will be donating milk to this the bank.
Agrawal also said, “The process of donating and storing milk in this bank will be very safe and almost equivalent to a blood bank.”
The space for the bank is provided free of cost to Mahesh Ashram by the State Government at the Maternity Ward of MB Hospital also known as Pannadhai Chikitsalay.
The facility will have a waiting lounge, counseling room, donor room, utility room and a cold storage where donated milk can be stored for three months at -20°C.
In 2010, over 15.41 Lac children died in India under the age of five mainly due to under-nourishment.
