Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidhyapeeth University (JRNRVU) in association with Lions Club Udaipur Aman, Saral Blood Bank, Smt Sarala Singhvi Charitable Society launched the Saral Blood Donation “Rath” today.  The service will enable provision of “replacement free” blood to the needy.

The Rath was launched by Vice Chancellor Prof S.S. Sarangdevot, Dr Ashok Mehta, Past President Lions Club International, Ajay Pathak, Drug Controller of Rajasthan, RSBTC Project Director Dr S.S. Chauhan and other dignitaries.

The service has been launched with the objective of increasing voluntary blood donation. For creating awareness around this, a car rally comprising 100+ cars started from Saral Blood Bank Bhupalpura and after passing through various sections in the city reached JRNRVU.

45 people also donated blood on the occasion. This was followed by a documentary film for all present at the JRNRVU auditorium.

JRNRVU also signed an MoU with Saral Blood Bank promising 2000 units of blood from its students across departments.

Specialities of the Rath:

It is a completely air-conditioned unit and provides provision for blood donation by 4 people at the same time. It is equipped with beddings, sofa-sets, technician units, refrigerated storing of blood units and wash room. The Rath will move around in the city promoting voluntary blood donation. Blood so collected will help in the objective of providing replacement free blood to the needy people.
