The menace of Swine Flu (H1N1 virus) is going from bad to worse this season. MB hospital reported 4th death in last 5 days and its 7th death in last 19 days.
Chittorgarh resident Rekha Harijan (35) breathed her last yesterday at MB Hospital. To make matters worse, there were 12 new cases of swine flu positive patients reported. The number of Swine Flu positive patients has gone up from 27 to 39 in the last 5 days. The only matter of solace is that 90% of the swine flu patients recover well if treated on time.
Dr Raghavendra Rao, Deputy CMHO, said that over 13000 students in 146 schools were screened yesterday for swine flu. Strict instructions have been passed on to schools to see that no student with any cough, cold comes to school. If they do come, school administration is adviced to talk to their parents and ensure that the ward goes back home.
