Udaipur based Karma Primary Healthcare Services Pvt. Ltd has raised Rs 3 Crore in funding from equity crowd funding platform 1Crowd.

Karma Healthcare provides technology based healthcare solutions in rural areas. Started in 2014, the firm has set up health centres in rural areas providing range of health services including web-enabled patient-doctor consultations, face-to-face doctor consultations and medicines to patients. Each rural clinic caters to 20,000 to 25,000 population.

Firm had earlier raised funds in 2015 from Impact Investment Holding, an arm of advisory firm Ennovent. Existing partners including Ennovent, Ankur Capital, Beyond Capital and a few others participated in this round of funding.

Jagdeep Gambhir, founder and CEO, Karma Healthcare, said that the funds will go into scaling up operations and improving the technology offering to improve quality of healthcare services.

Each Karma Healthcare Clinic has an Android based tablet, built in webcam, mobile based internet connection, wireless printer, external speaker along with other clinical equipment. A community worker is employed in the clinic. When a patient walks in to the clinic, community worker records his vital parameters and helps in setting up video consultation with a physician. He/She this prints e-prescription and provides medicine free of cost. When patients need more detailed examination, they are guided to a speciality facility in nearby town or city.
