Swine Flu Alert

The increasing number of patients diagnosed with both COVID-19 and swine flu in the district has raised concerns for the health department. Over a period of 116 days from January 2024 to the present, there have been 312 confirmed cases of COVID-19, resulting in the death of two patients. Similarly, during the same timeframe, there have been 88 reported cases of swine flu, with two fatalities recorded.

In the broader context of the state, the number of swine flu patients has now reached 999. The highest number of fatalities, totaling three, occurred in Bhilwara. Additionally, two deaths each have been reported in Udaipur, Bikaner, and Kota.

In Udaipur specifically, the majority of swine flu patients have been identified in urban areas, with the highest concentration in Badgaon. Notably, no new swine flu patients have been admitted to the infectious diseases ward of MB Hospital in the past two days.

According to Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) Dr. Shankarlal Bamaniya, both COVID-19 and swine flu cases are being taken seriously by health authorities. The government-issued guidelines regarding infectious diseases are being diligently followed, contributing to a decline in the recent surge of cases.
