The worst thing about having head injury is that it leads to severe effects in parts of the body. There are patients at the hospital who sustained head injury and are suffering from paralysis in parts of their bodies and even memory loss.
Dr. Tarun Gupta says, “Every day, we have to conduct 3-4 operations in the emergency. Their relatives keep pleading us to save the people met with accident.”
MCH Dr. Praveen Tripathi said that it is the family who suffers the most in these cases. It takes around 6 months for full recovery of patients. Even after that, there is no guarantee of 100% recovery.
People who get hit on the head have 4 hours that are critical for them; which is termed as golden window period by the doctors. As soon as the patient is able to reach to the hospital within these 4 hours, there are more chances of recovery and safety.
