Five Vidyarthi Mitra members employed by state government as provisional teachers have been arrested, while nearly a dozen received injuries when the police lathi-charged the angry group of protestors at Delhi Gate today evening.
Five Vidyarthi Mitra members employed by state government as provisional teachers have been arrested, while nearly a dozen received injuries when the police lathi-charged the angry group of protestors at Delhi Gate today evening.
Around 2000 Vidyarthi Mitra members from Udaipur region blocked one of the busiest signals of Udaipur and started demonstrating their concern over the non acceptance of their demands, for which they have been appealing to the government since long. One major demand is the risk of job insecurity.
After the group ignored continuous requests by the police to break up the protest, additional force was deployed to disperse the mob that was allegedly getting violent. Several people received injuries in the police lathi charge.
5 people: Khem Singh Bohra (Khamnor), Devendra Vyas, Babulal Kalal (Parsad), Pahad Singh (Sayra) and Prakash Tamboli (Chittorgarh) were arrested under Section 151-IPC by Bhopalpura Police. Later, all of them were released after being presented in front of the Additional Deputy Magistrate.
Later in the evening, the group met BJP legislator Gulab Chand Kataria at the Municipal Council grounds and narrated the mishap.
According to sources, the delegation of Vidyarthi Mitra went to meet State Minister Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya at the Commissioner’s office, but the outcome of the discussion was not as expected, which raised their distress that further led to a mass protest.
