Akhil Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) called for All India ‘bandh’ for all Universities and colleges today, against the alleged corruption by Central Government and its involvement in various scams.
Udaipur wing of ABVP tried to stall colleges in Mohan Lal Sukhadia University, however overall bandh remained ineffective as police and administration did not allow students to carry out their objective.
Bandh was led by Pankaj Borana, Student Union President, Gaurav Lodha, Mahanagar Mantri and Hiren Patel, National Executive Member of ABVP.
“This bandh was called to demonstrate to the government that students are not insensitive about the corruption issue. Recent CAG reports on three issues of Coal, Delhi airport and Ultra Mega Power Projects (UMPPs) have shown huge irregularities in government policies, practices and the character of their ministers”, said Gaurav Lodha.
The ABVP supporters also protested against the arrest of student leader Rajesh Meena and lathi-charge on students in Jaipur. Several students gathered outside the collectorate and torched Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s effigy.
