Accusations, Allegations and Scuffle at the Nagar Parishad's Board Meeting
Adjourned Board meeting of the Udaipur Municipal Council started today with handful of accusations, allegations and brawl. At the start of the meeting, K. K. Kumawat (BJP) demanded expulsion of Mohammad Ayub (Congress) from the membership of the council, on a heated argument which took place earlier between the two.

· Revenue Office Fired for failing to demolish illegal construction.
· Appeal to regularize Taya & Gattani Estates “Vatikas” rejected.

Adjourned Board meeting of the Udaipur Municipal Council started today with handful of accusations, allegations and brawl. At the start of the meeting, K. K. Kumawat (BJP) demanded expulsion of Mohammad Ayub (Congress) from the membership of the council, on a heated argument which took place earlier between the two.
Kumawat demanded removal of the member, on the other hand, Mohammad Ayub charged K. K. of saying abusive words on him. On this, Kailash Sahu (Councilor) snatched the demand papers from Kumawat and tore it.
Dinesh Shrimali, leader of Opposition, also came in between and shouted slogans against BJP, meanwhile there was a scuffle and exchange of words between Kailash, K. K. and Paras Singhvi (Councilor and President Chamber of Commerce and Industries). Vijay Ahuja (BJP) alleged that the congress members misbehaved with the women councilors of BJP and the situation turned tense.
Chairperson, Rajni Dangi; Deputy Chairman, Mahendra Singh Shekhawat intervened and the session of the house started somehow.
As soon as the meeting started, Archana Sharma (BJP) said that statues of leaders can’t be set in the community halls of Municipal Council without permission from committee set on the issues of the statues, at Divisional Commissioner’s office.
And hence, the statue set in the community hall of ward-51, of Vijay Ahuja (BJP) is illegal. At this, there was a heated argument between the two.
Dushehra-Deepawali Fair
On the question of the venue of Dushehra-Deepawali Fair from 4-13 Nov, members agreed on town hall as the best place, however Paras Singhvi on behalf of the business association of Bapu Bazzar protested that the place must be changed, yet ultimately, the board decided to organize Fair at Municipal Council’s premises.
While Sobhagya Singh, C. I. Surajpole, gave an application regarding the matter to the UMC, stating that Town Hall is not a better place for the Fair, considering traffic congestion and overcrowding.
Opposition asked the Chairperson for Separate budget like for “Dushehra-Depawali Fair”, for Muslims, Bohra and Christian and other communities Religious Festivals.
On the issue of granting separate budget for the religious festival of other communities, Chairperson remained silent.
Bupalpura’s illegal construction case
After becoming an example of mockery in the city on the issue of not demolishing the illegally constructed work under the pressure of the owner, Chairperson and the board passed a resolution to relive R.O. (Revenue Officer), Nanalal Regar from the office.
At this issue, Paras Singhvi raised question of some more illegal constructions continuously going on at Bhatt ji ki Bari, Madhuban and Bupalpura area. He said, “I have taken photographs in the midnight”, and waved the photographs in front of the media, present in the house.
He alleged that construction works at 16 illegal complexes are going on at Bhupalpura without any restriction.
Singhvi also said that if council seizes some illegally constructed building, then it comes under the possession of Municipal Council and after that if any construction work is carried out by the owner then an immediate FIR must be lodged against the owner. He asked the Commissioner of how many FIRs have been lodged against such cases.
Mohammad Ayub (INC) alleged that Commissioner is working on dual policy, as two illegal constructions were reported in Chamanpura, one house has been seized after serving notice and the other one has not even been given a notice.
Discussion diverted from illegal construction to regularization of Vatikas
While, the discussion was going-on on the issue of illegal construction, Paras Singhvi told that Taya and Gattani Estates, who had applied for legalization of their Vatikas near Oriental Palace Hotel; their applications must be rejected with immediate effect, as the matter is already under the supervision of the High Court and the residents of the locality are tremendously disturbed by the loud speakers and the nuisance created in parties and marriages.
A long discussion undertook the house and ultimately, the appeal of both the parties for their Vatikas, which comes under Champa Bagh areas, were rejected.
Ajay Porwal and Mohammad Ayub alleged that the BJP board is full of corruption, while the BJP councilors were alleging congress members to count on their deeds instead of others.
