Accusations of a student against the NSS officials have been termed baseless by the program officer.
As per the complaint of Shagufta Bano, student of BA III year in Meera Girls College, NSS officers misbehaved with her and forcibly took her to a mental asylum in Hisar. NSS program Officer Dr. Beena Dwivedi has termed these accusations as baseless.
Dr. Dwivedi in her letter to MG College Principal has demanded investigation in this matter. As per Dr. Dwivedi, Shagufta’s accusations have thrown NSS in a bad light. A copy of her letter with clarifications has been sent to senior officers of NSS.
In her clarification letter, the program officer has mentioned that Shagufta complained of bad health while in the RD camp. Since her condition was getting worse, she was rushed to the hospital and not a mental asylum. She was taken care of well. Shagufta has complained of a mental asylum but Hisar doesn’t have any mental asylum. Her condition was not improving; hence her family members were informed. Her brother came to take her away and a written approval was taken from him. She was sent home only after the written approval from her brother.
Dr. Dwivedi also mentioned that Shagufta threatened her on 7th November. She was accompanied by a friend. The details of threat have not yet been made clear. Arvind Singh Rathore, Amrita Sharma, Gunjan Ranawat, Rajveer Singh Tanwar and Pooja Dadhich have confirmed that Shagufta’s accusations are false.
