Consumer organisation has demanded action against gas hawkers for keeping a large number of gas cylinders in residential areas. As stated by the organisation, keeping too many gas cylinders in residential areas and refilling of cylinders in residential areas is against the rules of Explosive Act. The Consumer organisation served a notice to the District Food Department on Monday. It was specified that gas hawkers gather a lot of cylinders in residential areas of Gulab Bagh, Town Hall, New Bhupalpura and Mahasatiya area and also carry on with refilling of gas cylinders which can prove to be disastrous. Gathering of too many gas cylinders in residential areas is against the rules of Explosive Act.

After this, the gas agencies were issued directives to keep a check on the hawkers and the distribution system of gas cylinders. Teams will also be made to keep an eye on the working of gas hawkers.
