Air Ticketing has been adversely affected in Udaipur today after TAAI (Travel Agents Association of India) laid a nationwide one-day strike against airlines for zero commission policy and other issues causing hindrance to air tickets booking agents.
40 agents of Udaipur kept their businesses closed today and no air ticket was booked.
“Airlines are asking travel agents to take commission from travelers which will be an additional burden on customers”, says Mahadev Damani, president of Air Travel Agent Association of Udaipur.
According to Narendra Sharma of Lyra Travels, airlines get more than 50% percent revenue from the tickets booked by travel agents. From several years, agents play an important role between airlines and customer.
Sharma said, “It will be not appreciated if airlines stop paying commission to agents.”
