Amazon shopping portal is being boycotted by Indians as it is selling shoes and toilet seat covers bearing pictures of Hindu deities. People have criticised the shopping portal for this blunder. Since Amazon has insulted the feelings of Indians, the app has been uninstalled by a number of users. The insult of deities has very obviously aroused agitation and a trend has begun under the hash tag Boycott Amazon (#boycottamazon).

The online portal has hurt the sentiments of Hindus by selling shoes, toilet seats and door mats with figures of Lord Shiva and Lord Ganesh. The campaign to boycott amazon has picked up speed. It may be noted that back in 2016 a similar issue had come to light where rugs bearings pictures of Indian, Christian and Islamic deities were being sold.
