Negligence neither accepts excuses; nor is the cause of fatality always accountable to mechanical error void of human interference. A similar condition was observed in the vicinity of D.P Jewelers at the Court Chouraha, where an electric supply box attached with the underground cable has been left exposed since months.

The maintenance of this 220-Watt Power Box, also called a Connection Box comes under 33/11 Shaktinagar Sub Power Junction. The AEN at the Station, I.M. Mansoori justifies the negligence by blaming the unknown thieves who walk away with the steel case that envelope the open wires.

The locals of the area though, including shopkeepers and road-side vendors say that the dangerous condition of this electric box has been as is since many months and are vary of the possible mishaps that may be caused by the wires that are following with high voltage current.

This Electric box being less than 100 meters away from the District Collectors’ bungalow adds to the irony of the event and to the misery of the administrative situation.
