Are we responsible for Her death?
She was a medical student, who could have been a Doctor in future saving lives of others. But, we put her in bed helpless in the hands of other Doctors who had nothing, but just hope to get her back to life.
When ‘our doctors’ were unable (read suspiciously unable) to do anything here, they transferred her to another country, where apparently medical facilities were better than any of the AIIMS, Fortis or Apollo that we have here. But, to no good, she died.
Those men not just raped her, they raped the whole of humanity. They raped our values, laughed aloud at our constitution, which holds mercy for them and for the leaders who have nothing but ‘condolence’ messages for the family now.
She Died. She lost the battle with life.

We’ve been pathetic our whole life, not because we chose to be, but because we never choose. We never choose the right people to lead us. It’s like every 5-years we go to the same restaurant and order something other than the last time we ate. And, pathetically yet true – We have only few dishes to choose from.
We have all the sympathy and affection for the girl. But, will we never take any step to ensure that it never happens again? Yes, we should hang those goons ‘Taliban’ style. But, can anyone guarantee that it won’t happen again and we will not have to be on roads again asking our supreme leaders to hang someone else again. No.
It will happen, again. At least until some ‘real’ people will lead us, will rule us. At least until our leaders don’t have to read from the pre-made speech to show sympathy towards humanity. At least until we are really free.
I salute those who stood up for the girl and her family. But, that is not enough unless we all stand up against our own wrong beliefs.
We have to start treating our girls with respect, and start slapping some sense into the ones who don’t. We have to start thinking our daughters as second to none, not even to our own son. It won’t be done in one year or in ten years. We have the whole generation to set straight and that is hell of a task. But we have to do it.
‘One’ cannot change the world, it’s a fact and we have to be together to change ourselves, our society and moreover our country.
Female feticide, rape at one end and Mothers Day, Raksha Bandhan, Durga Pooja and Laxmi Pooja at the other end. Are we confused on the role women hold on our existence? Or we purposely act hypocrites, so that we can have convenience to treat our women according to the way we want, depending on psychological swings?
Some questions need to be answered, and frankly some stupid answers need to be diminished, for a brighter, better and safer India.
