Auto drivers instructed not to overload school autos
Overloading of school vans and autos must stop with immediate effect.
After the recent accident at Jaisamand-Salumber road, police held a meeting with the auto union regarding overload in the school autos and vans. The agony caused by this accident where school teachers and children lost their lives was too much to bear, hence police administration decided to take strict action against overloading of school transport especially autos and vans.
A meeting with the auto union was held on Tuesday. Police has warned that if any school auto or van is found loaded beyond capacity, strict action will be taken against them. Reportedly the auto union has given its consent to the directives issued by police department.
ASP City Paras Jain said that action will be taken against overloaded vans and autos but parents also need to be alert in this case. They must not send their children in autos which are already overloaded and any such case must be reported to police. All drivers of school transport have been instructed to drive their vehicles carefully and in a decent speed limit failing which they will have to face punishment.
As per the present situations, many auto rickshaws and vans can be seen outside private schools which are overruling the standards of passenger capacity. A check on this overloading has become demand of time as the city has seen too many accidents of school vehicles in the recent times.
