It is an extremely pathetic condition that the anicuts built in Ayad River to check the flow of water are now overflowing with sewerage. The four anicuts in Ayad River have become centre points for diseases. With too much of waste coming up in these areas, the anicuts have become pools of mosquitoes which are sure to increase fatal bacterias of dengue and other related diseases.

It is quite a matter of concern that agencies that should be taking care of this situation is too negligent of the fact that the sewerage is inviting health troubles for the city. Areas affected due to this are Subhash Nagar, Ayad, Navratan, Panchratan, Pulan and nearby residential areas.

Lake lovers of Udaipur city have expressed their concern over this issue. They have asked Municipal Corporation Commissioner to make arrangements for some effective chemicals to put an end to this sewerage overflow. It is quite depressing that administration is not paying attention to this fact whereas crores of rupees are being spent on the beautification of Ayad.
