The stretch on Town Hall Road that links Babu Bazar and Shakti Nagar has been blocked by the administration because of worsening traffic conditions.

Authorities have put temporary barricades on the road for now and the barricades will be made permanent soon. This move of the administration has been opposed by the Shakti Nagar Vyapar Mandal as it is likely to have an adverse impact on their business.

The residents of the area had regularly complained about bad traffic condition, heavy traffic and increasing accident risks in that area and had requested the authorities to block the gap between the dividers.

Rajni Dangi, Chairperson, Municipal Council said that we have been receiving regular complaints from the residents of that area and now we have taken action. The council will observe this for some time and if this blockade brings no difference to the traffic, it will be removed, she added further.

The Shakti Nagar Vyapar Mandal held a small protest against this road blockage which was handled by the authorities.
