The drive ‘Beggar Free City’ initiated by the administration is in full swing. The target is to provide options to the beggars in the city.

In the drive itself, today a couple who usually spends their time begging on Chetak Circle was convinced today to take shelter in the ‘Old Age House’ by Officials of Police Department and Gayatri Seva Sansthan. The couple then comprehended to the offer but said that, they will visit their village first and if they won’t find any option there, they will come to the ‘Old Age House’.

To be noted, the Institution Gayatri Seva Sansthan along with the civic and administrative bodies is working to make the city beggar-free.

The beggars who are asking alms due to their genuine reasons are re-located to ‘Old Age Shelters’ and the other who are doing it as a routine with no feasible reason are sent back to their native places.

Traffic Police is also helping in the scenario, as they call the officers as and when they see such case in any area of the city.
