District Collector, Hemant Ghera was presented a memorandum today by the businessmen of Link Road Vyapar Mandal, Udaipur for re-facilitating the link road between Bapu Bazar and Shakti Nagar.

The road which has been blocked by Udaipur Municipal Council from past few months is requested to be re-opened by the fellow businessmen of Mandal.

Collector, though, ensured a proper review of the situation, didn’t make any promise in prior.

As stated in the memorandum, “the traffic which was diverting directly into Shakti Nagar from Bapu Bazar in past, now have to take Delhi Gate route which is creating hassle for public and residents of the area. Besides, the businessmen having their shops on Shakti Nagar route are out of business due to road closure.”

Vinod Kumar Trivedi, Businessman said, “This has caused duality of problems as in the recent past; gate of Municipal Council was also closed by orders of Rajni Dangi, the gate also led the commuters through Shakti Nagar and now the road closure”.

It is alleged in the memorandum that, “officials do know the situation of traffic and businessmen, but are not doing anything.”

Collector replied and assured a review with the help of Photography and Videography, as smooth facilitation of traffic management after the blockade was reported earlier by Additional S.P. (Traffic) to ADM (City). The decision was first taken by ADM (City).
