Several employees of Sir Padmapat Singhania University, Udaipur went on strike today and demanded an increment in their monthly salaries. The college sweepers, bus drivers, electricians and other workers laid dharna outside the college.

The sudden strike raised problems to the students and the faculty members of the college who faced transportation and maintenance problems due to the protest.

According to sources, the employees who are on strike are mostly from Bhatevar; they have also handed over a written complaint to the police but no action has been taken yet by the college administration.

Workers demanded Rs. 400-500 increment over their present salary.
