Contractors’ Union to intensify their protests, if demands not met

Udaipur Municipal Council Contractors Union protested on Tuesday and has written a letter to Commissioner of Udaipur Municipal Council complaining of the inaction on their demands.

The union has also decided to boycott all the tenders until their demands are met.

The contractors mentioned all the demand in their letter and pointed that if no action is taken until September 15, 2012, then they will be stalling all the ongoing work in the city, leaving them under-constructed.

Contractors demand BSR should be implemented, registered contractors should not be charged with ‘earnest money’, any new tax by the government should not be implemented on the undergoing projects, office space should be allotted to Contractors Union, work instructions should be given within time limit after bidding, and none of the works should be stalled for more than 6 months and most importantly, the decision on royalty implemented by state government should be taken back.
