Criminal networking found active in Rajasthan jails
Mobiles and sim cards were found with criminals in jail.
Recently criminal network operating from jails through mobiles came to light. Following this, Jail department raided all jails of Rajasthan and found that criminal gangs were extremely active and were supplying mobiles and other stuff to prisoners in jail.
55 mobiles from Jaipur jail and 13 mobiles and 6 sim cards were recovered from Udaipur Central jail. Chittorgarh and Kapasan jails were also raided but nothing suspicious was found there. Mobiles and sim cards found in Udaipur Central Jail raise a question mark on the jail’s security systems.
ADG Jail Bhupendra Singh Yadav and DIG Jail Preeta Bhargava and other officers raided all barracks, kitchen, facilities and every corner of the jail on Tuesday. It is being speculated that the prisoners became alert on the news of raid and hid all the suspicious items or probably put them beyond reach. Jail department is now moving ahead with the next step against all these activities.
There are all the probabilities that prisoners hide mobiles and sim cards in the wall and crevices which are not visible easily. This way, criminals get an access to technology and are able to plan new schemes while still inside the jail. Jail department is now planning to investigate all unclaimed mobiles and sims instead of destroying them. There are possibilities that these unclaimed items might contain some relevant information or details of crimes.
As per reports, a gang from Mallatalai area is involved in supplying mobiles and sim cards in Udaipur Central Jail. They wrap all such requirements in newspapers, clothes etc. and throw them inside the prisoners cell through windows facing towards fields behind the jail building. These suppliers are given a handsome amount for supplying mobiles to prisoners in jail. One of the jail officers has reportedly said that finding a mobile from the cell is like finding a needle in haystack.media reports
