The desilting and deepening process of Fatehsagar lake bed is in full swing. Many small islands and even trees are being removed in the process which has drawn the attention of nature lovers of the city. The nature lovers have demanded that the felling of trees and the removal of those small islands be stopped immediately as these trees and islands are home to local and migratory birds. Major Sanjay Kumar has asked UIT Secretary to monitor the work of the lake deepening project and keep the homes of the birds safe.
