With the latest news about chips being inserted in the fuel nozzle and consumers getting less petrol in Jaipur and Lucknow, Udaipur petrol dealers assure that the city has no chances of cheating its customers.

Udaipur petrol pumps are equipped with the latest technology automation system for fuel. Hence the chances of filling a consumer’s vehicle with less petrol or diesel are next to impossible. Almost 70 percent petrol pumps in Udaipur have highly modernised petrol units which are directly connected to the oil company. There is an online connection between oil companies and the computers at the petrol pumps which ensures that the right unit of petrol is filled in the tanks and a record for the same is saved.

After the news of petrol being controlled by a chip and a remote control which resulted in filling the tank with a lesser quantity (when it showed a litre on the machine but filled only 940 m.l.) in Lucknow and Jaipur, an investigation was carried out in the lakecity to check whether the same was happening here or not. The results turned out to be fairly good as most of the machines are automated and connected to the oil companies directly making it impossible for the staff to play mischief. Fuel filled was equal to the fuel count recorded in the machines.

It was reported that when the petrol nozzle is pressed constantly while filling a tank, it gives out less petrol than specified but the machines show the demanded quantity. A re-measurement of the petrol filled is not possible but since Udaipur city has mostly got automated machines, chances of cheating are very vague.

As per petroleum expert Naresh Taneja, the petrol filling staff should be asked not to press nozzle while filling petrol. Also if the staffs suggest rounding off the petrol figure by filling more, consumer should not give in to such suggestions. In case of any doubt, consumers should ask for the complaint book and if denied by the staff they should call up the customer care number of the respective company and inform about their experience with the staff.
