Girls covering face Penalized
Keeping high level of vigilance, Udaipur Traffic Police today penalized (cut ‘challans’ ) girls driving vehicles with their face covered. Police set their teams at chetak circle. It is yet a controversial issue, as this new law is good or bad, however girls might have to switchover to sunscreen, instead of covering their faces with “Dupatta”.
As per the confirmation received from Circle Inspector of Traffic Police, Narayan Singh, few challans were cut today, for covering face and hiding identity.
Most of the girls use these “Dupattas” to get rid of sun’s ultra violet rays, pollution and dust, but police considers, covering face and driving vehicle seems like a gangster running after committing a crime, hiding his/her face.
Youth wearing scarf or other accessories to cover their faces is proving to be a big difficulty for the police. Police says that, girls and boys generally cover their faces with handkerchief and scarf, this serves alibi for criminals in escaping successfully. Criminals use these stereotypes as their major weapon of escapism.
In the vast population of India, it had become a nightmare for the police to pick out culprits from the few security-face-checks of those covering their faces. Now this initiative of the challaning, will keep general public abstained from covering their faces while in public, in markets and on roads.
