Gold jewellery was robbed from an old lady in the town again. The robbers entered the house as floor cleaners.

An old woman was robbed off her gold jewellery at Kalka Mata temple road on Wednesday. Impostors pretending to be floor cleaners entered the house of Madhubala w/o Ramesh Jain and robbed her off her precious belongings.

Wednesday afternoon when Madhubala was alone at home, two young men approached her saying they were floor cleaners and could make any marble floor shine by removing all dirt and grime. The woman believing these young men allowed them to enter her house. The two young men did make the floor shine. This is when they grabbed the opportunity of fooling the lady by saying that they could make her jewellery shine as well.

The old lady was wearing gold bangles. When these men asked her to hand over the bangles, she took off her bangles and gave them for shining. The men asked her to get some stuff from inside. When the lady went inside the house, the men disappeared taking the bangles along with them. By the time the lady returned to the room and discovered what had happened with her, the men were nowhere to be found.

Colony dwellers said that while these men were inside the house, there was a third one who was waiting outside the house with a bike. The moment these two came out with the jewellery, they all sped off on the bike. These two men had approached the lady’s neighbour first. Surendra Parihar’s(the neighbour) wife was approached who did not allow the men to enter house for the cleaning work and asked them to move to other houses instead.

Such incidents have become very common but public is not becoming alert, instead they are becoming convenient victims in every case.
