Head-masters employed in government senior secondary school protested against the Department promotional Committee (DPC) for taking down their posts as head masters and sending them back to their previous post of teachers at the same school where they served as head masters.
Calling it humiliation of their post, teachers under the banner of Rajasthan Teacher’s Association carried demonstration and handed over letter in the name of chief minister to district authority.
According to the complaint letter, in 2008-09, department of education had elevated third-grade teachers as head masters and transferred them to schools located in remote areas when the DPC was not meeting regularly. These teachers are now being compelled to return to their previous cadre of third grade teachers.
Lachchiram Gurjar, president of association said that, “these teachers have been working hard for last 4 years without any financial gain and facing all sorts of problems and now the department is putting them back to their previous cadre in the same school where they served as head-masters.”
Stating it as a social embarrassment for affected teachers, association has appealed government authorities to stop the transfer orders of these teachers.
