Just another piece of shocking news comes from an 11 year old child that children from Udaipur and nearby villages are being kidnapped and forced and beaten to work as child labour in Gujarat.

A father went from corner to corner searching for three months for his only son but in vain. He even mortgaged his 4 acres of land for a petty amount of 8 thousand rupees and sold off one of his cattle only to get money so that he could move around looking for his lost son. Early morning of Wednesday, his son escaped from Gujarat from the clutches of the master and reached home. The family was shocked to hear the details of his kidnap and his stay in Gujarat as a child labour.

The details were reported to Jhadol DSP along with a request to take action against the kidnappers and dealing parties in Gujarat. As per the child, there are more than 20 children who are forced to work in fields and are starving.

Kalu Lal Khokhariya met with DSP Niranjan Prasad Charan and said that his son Jagdish had gone to a tailor early morning to have his clothes stitched on 20th April 2017. On his way back home, Jagdish met Papuda s/o Badra Ram Pargi. Papuda offered Jagdish a trip to Idar in Gujarat which was refused by Jagdish. Papuda then threatened to kill Jagdish and forced him to sit in a jeep. He then took the little boy to Patan in Gujarat and left him with Harji Bhai Patel to work as child labour on the fields.

As per the information given by Jagdish, more than 20 children are working in the fields day and night. They are fed only once in 2 days. If a child gets exhausted and is unable to work, he is thrashed and tortured. Papuda had taken Jagdish to his own house after 3 months. Grabbing the opportunity, Jagdish managed to escape late night and reached his father’s home in Falasia.

Police are going to raid the site as per Jagdish’s information and take strict action against the culprits. Among the 20+ children still in captivity in Gujarat, Jagdish recognises 3 children as they are also tribals of Jhadol area.
