The activists of the Rajiv Youth Brigade Society have placed allegations on Lake Conservation Committee for being irresponsible and negligent in conserving the lakes of the city.  The society also asserted that the issue of No-Construction Zone is less important as compared to keeping the city lakes clean.

Addressing a Press Conference today at the Lake City Press Club, K.K. Sharma, President of the Society charged the Lake Conservation Committee on various issues, mainly on allowing sewerage lines connecting the lakes.

Sharma said that they will appeal to the court to decrease the limit of construction zone from 500 meter to 100 meter so that people can get permission to do construction, but before that sewage lines should be checked and Hotels and Restaurants situated close to the lakes should have water treatment plants.

He also said that sewerage leakage is the biggest problem that Udaipur is facing; the polluted water is either mixing into lakes or lake water is going into sewerage lines.

Various Congress activists including Jaiprakash Nimawat, Harish Arya, Jagdish, Zakir Hussain and Champalal Paleecha were present at the Conference.
