Within last few days a kid died from drowning in a boat accident , a youth died in Fateh Sagar while swimming and yesterday a sales person is murdered in broad day light. All these incidents show that citizens as well government agencies care least about safety and criminals have absolutely no fear of law or police. Coming from a place like Singapore where life is the most precious thing .Government has zero tolerance towards safety issues and criminals dare to take law into their hand.

My family specially kids are shaken to the core and I find it really difficult to provide any justification for such a mess in my city. I have always told my kids that Udaipur is a very beautiful city and is a paradise for tourists. But now, I am finding it difficult to face their queries on my boasting of Udaipur as smart city or City of Lakes . Coming back to safety issues , I am still to understand that Fateh Sagar is a Swimming pool or lake.  How can local government allow people to swim in a lake.  I doubt that any responsible government will allow such a practice and put the lives of their citizens at risk .  No matter what people say, Swimming in lakes should be completely banned. I still love my city of lakes but I doubt that my kids will have the same opinion. Next time , I may find it difficult to justify the image of Udaipur that I have painted to them and bring them for a visit to Udaipur . I am still hopeful that administration will take remedial steps immediately and restore the confidence of people like me who always fancied Udaipur as the most beautiful and safe place in India.
