Locals Vow to Reopen Picholi DispensaryThe dilemma of closed dispensary at Picholi area of Udaipur seemed to be intensifying more after the heated argument on October 3 between local resident and health officer.

On one side, medical employee union demanded strict action against those who allegedly mishandled CMHO, Dr Bairwa whereas the local residents have vowed to form a committee to fight over the issue.

A group of localites, led by Fateh Singh Rathore, former Ward Councilor, held a meeting today at Hemraj Vyayamshala, Ravji ka Hata, and decided to move forward with their mission through peaceful protests.

Rathore (in photo above) told UT that on Monday, a committee will hand over a memorandum to district collector and will demand to reopen the dispensary. “CMHO said that since 8 years, they had been operating this dispensary on humanitarian grounds even when it was unsanctioned by the government, then why cannot they operate it now” said Rahore.

Rathore further added that “We will stage dharna at Dispensary from tomorrow and will ask authority to open it within next 8 days”.

The dispensary at Picholi was serving locals of four wards (10, 11, 13 and 14). After its closure, the people of these areas have been facing problems.

Many social and political activists, including Jagdish Sharma, Jitendra Jain, Radhakishan Rathod, Aslam Khan and Fateh Singh Rathod, took part in today’s meeting.
