A man was beaten up by money lenders though he returned the borrowed amount with interest.

A case has been registered against 10 money lenders of Udaipur for beating a man and robbing him off his belongings. Naresh Giri Goswami s/o Shankar Goswami resident of Loyra filed a case of fraud against Amarjeet Singh Kanda, Jatin Kanda, Amandeep Kanda and 7 others for beating him mercilessly despite the fact that he returned the borrowed amount with interest.

Naresh reported that he was well acquainted with Amarjeet Singh Kanda. Amarjeet offered to lend money to Naresh for starting his own clothing business. Naresh borrowed 22 lakh rupees from Amarjeet in two stages on an interest of 2 percent. Amarjeet made him sign 5 blank cheques and also a stamp paper against the money as security.

When the business went off well, Naresh was asked to pay 10 percent interest for which Amarjeet even started blackmailing him. In the process, Naresh paid back the principal amount of 22 lakh rupees along with interest amount of 62 lakh 20 thousand rupees by June 2016. Even after this, Amarjeet demanded ‘balance’ amount of 42 lakh rupees.

When Naresh could not give him this ‘balance’ amount, Amarjeet along with some friends reached Naresh at home and thrashed him. They even walked away with expensive belongings of Naresh along with his car.

Naresh said that these people forced him to sign a cheque again. After this incident, Naresh left Udaipur in fear. As per his report, he came to know that an amount of 20 lakhs was withdrawn from his Syndicate bank account. This way, these money lenders extracted around 1 crore 25 lakhs from Naresh against the principal amount of 22 lakhs. They are also in possession of his car and other expensive belongings.
