MLSU penalised for not checking answer sheets
Sukhadia university for being negligent towards answer sheets.
Mohan Lal Sukhadia Univeristy has been penalised for not checking answer sheets. A penalty of 25000 rupees has been levied for fiddling with marks and ultimately putting a student’s future into danger.
The University reportedly gave marks without checking the answer sheets. This was discovered when a B.Com student had the copies checked again. Nirmal Kumari appeared for B.Com II year exams from MLSU in 2016-2017. When the results were declared, she was not satisfied with her marks in subject related to Income Tax Management. She asked for her answer sheets from the University. It was observed that neither the answer sheets were corrected nor any marks were given on the original copy. She then had her copies corrected through specialists and a difference of almost 30 marks was calculated. As per Nirmal Kumari, she asked the University to revise the result and provide her with the amended marksheet which was refused by the administration. The grounds provided by the university admin were that no student has the right to have the copies corrected on personal level. They also said that she did not provide any report to the university regarding this issue.
The student sought help from the court as she had no other option left because her future depends on the marksheet. The case was filed with Permanent Lok Adalat which declared that the university has been negligent in their approach towards answer sheets disturbing the future of a student. The university administration has been directed by the court to take corrective measures so that no student’s future is spoiled. Court even penalised the university with 25000 rupees.
