Just a day before the final verdict on the pending pension of MLSU’s ex-employees, the pensioner’s society of MLSU held a press conference today and expressed their concern in front of media.
Several senior citizen pensioners have been protesting with the employees of MLSU since past few days. Final decision on the issues is expected tomorrow i.e. 7 feb, when a high level meeting of vice chancellors is scheduled in Jaipur.
Dr. B. P Bhatnagar, President of MLSU Pensioner’s Society said that, “We believe that state government and MLSU are intended to respond positively and may take decision in our favour. However, if any negative decision comes after the meeting, then we will continue the protest.”
Dr. Bhatnagar said that in case of any unfavorable decision, the society will stage mass protest, hunger strike and will also forcefully shutdown all affiliated colleges of MLSU.
Irregularities in pension payment started from Nov 2012 and it has put 500 pensioners into economical crises. The problem has also affected more than 10 widows of expired MLSU employees as they are completely dependent on the monthly pensions.
