MPUAT: Student Union demands ID cards to be centralized

Students Union of the Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology is demanding common ID cards for all students of the University. Currently, ID Cards are being provided by the respective Colleges, while the Union has demanded that the University issue them centrally.

The present ID cards are having the College name written in bold and the University’s name in small letters. Students demanded that since the University is well known and the students belong to the University first and to the College thereafter.

According to Rishi Upadhyay, President, MPUAT Students Union, “The University should provide a common identity card to the students in order to maintain a similarity among the identity of the students. We demanded for the same after the last student elections, but all efforts seem to have been in vain. It has been almost one year and nothing has been done by the University administration.”

“The demand came to me last year, but by then the colleges had already printed their respective ID cards at their level. However, during the new session this year, I will form a committee of Deans of the respective colleges of the University and put the matter in front of them. The matter will then be escalated to the higher authorities and the issue will soon be sorted out”, said Dr. Virendra Nepalia, Student Welfare Officer, MPUAT.
