Naaptol.com, an online shopping site, has been penalised for not delivering the requested accessories on time.

A consumer filed a complaint against online shopping site naaptol.com for not sending the required accessories within the prescribed time frame. As per the terms and conditions stated in online shopping site, any requested accessory is delivered within 48 hours.

Nirmala Mali d/o Dilkhush Mali resident of Roshan nagar in Sector 12 placed an online order for Swipe 3G mobile with gorilla glass with naaptol.com on 29^th May 2016. The company delivered the package much later than the promised 48 hours of delivery time. To the dismay of customer, the package did not have battery, back cover and invoice.

Nirmala called up the customer-care centre of naaptol.com and informed them of the missing contents of the package. Complaints were registered with Delhi and Mumbai offices as well. The company did not deliver the required accessories for a long time as result of which consumer could not use the mobile phone. Nirmala mailed to the site a number of times but all she got were fake assurances. Naaptol.com assured her of 48 hours delivery every time she contacted the customer-care centre.

Tired and irritated with the company’s false assurances, Nirmala filed a complaint with consumer forum against naaptol.com. The forum agreed that naaptol.com did not fulfil its promise of delivering the items in 48 hours which goes against their published terms of delivering packages. Naaptol.com has therefore been penalised and ordered by the consumer forum to refund the entire amount of the mobile along with 3 thousand rupees as penalty to the consumer. The forum has said that the company has been found guilty of not adhering to the promises made to the consumers.
