The Ekta Parishad and Jungle Zameen Jan Andolan Parishad have launched a Nation Wide Public revolt (Bhoomi Adhikar pe Jan Satyagraha) against land re-acquisition by the government, while compensating on very low rates.

The two groups will be launching a nation wide Jan Satyagraha 2012 on 2nd October, which is the Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, by conducting a foot march from Gwalior till Delhi, a stretch of 350 km in their demand of equal control over natural resources so that people can maintain their livelihood.

Inspired by the ideologies of Gandhi, the movement will also focus on activating the National Land Reform Council and bringing about an immediate resolution of land related disputes for millions of poor people.

A Jan Samwad (Public Conference) was held at Gandhi Ground by the Ekta Parishad and Jungle Zameen Andolan Parishad today for spreading awareness amongst the rural and tribal people on the land rights one has.
