More than a dozen women residents of Bedwas, one of the suburbs of Udaipur has pleaded to UIT officials about the lack of basic amenities in their area which forced them to live with the scarcity of water and electricity.

Women residents of Ma Gayatri Nagar, Dholi Magri, Bedwas alleged negligence of administration and demanded written assurance from UIT officials but the officer denied. Although they have promised to look upon the matter.

According to one of the residents, they were given pattas by UIT but ignored basic facilities. The area has no drinking water supply, no sewage line and the electricity poles are installed without lights.

Before approaching UIT, the residents had complained to the district health officer, district collector and other civic officers but their plea went unheard.

Residents also claimed that the work of road construction in their area was also left incomplete.
