All Rajasthan Resident Doctors Association has called for indefinite mass leave from today until their demands are not be fulfilled by the government.

Around 3000 resident doctors across state are protesting for not being paid since last 6 months. The other demands include, changing of examination pattern. Alongside this, Udaipur resident doctors also demanded for strict legal action against those who were, allegedly, involved in assaulting and abusing resident doctors a couple of months back.

Hospital functioning might get adversely affected due to their absence, there are more than 200 resident doctors in Udaipur.

According to the memorandum written in the name of Chief Minister, resident doctors are not being paid their salaries from past 6 months, they were last paid in February 2012. Resident doctor’s condemned the indolence of the government.

The doctors also insisted not to change PG exams pattern this year, the memo says that, if Rajasthan Universities of Health Sciences wish to change exam pattern then they can do it for students of 2013 batch.

Resident Doctor’s third demand is to take legal action against those who were involved in assaulting resident doctors at MB Hospital on the night of 8 July this year.

“We will continue our strike till our demands will not be heard and acted effectively”, says Dr. Dharam Singh Meena, Vice-President of Resident Doctor’s Association.
