Oil leaking from transformer is polluting Lake Pichola to a great extent. The lake is covered with a layer of oil which is extremely dangerous for all. A team of lake lovers put in efforts on Sunday to clean the lake. Municipal Corporation has been informed and asked to take action at the earliest to stop oil leakage.

An appeal has been made to the public to keep lakes clean. Lake welfare society put in enough labour to clear 3 quintals of garbage and weeds from the lake. Amarkund, Satta Pole, Bheem Ghat, Parmeshwar Ghat areas were cleaned by the lake lovers.

As informed by Anil Mehta, labour done to clean lakes was a joint effort of Jheel Mitr Sansthan, Lake Conservation Society and Gandhi Human Welfare Society. As per Tej Shankar Paliwal, member of Lake Development authority, public throws plastic items and polythene bags in the lake. Plastic has added to polluting lakes.

We need to keep our lakes clean. Udaipur is known as city of lakes and we do not want it to be known as city of polluted lakes. Someday pollution might make the lakes disappear. The sources of drinking water must be kept clean all the time at any cost. It is our duty to preserve the beauty of the city by keeping every inch of the city clean.
