It has become a constant affair that every corner of the Udaipur district is getting engulfed in flames either due to excessive heat or some unknown reasons.

The scorching heat is driving the masses crazy and burning up the vegetation that has gone dry on the hills and surrounding areas. In another such episode, the hills in Lakadwas area went up in flames today. The reasons of fire are yet unknown though it is being guessed that excessive heat may have caused the fire. Though fire brigade reached the affected area much on time, yet constant blowing wind caused the fire to spread at a great speed. A vast area was burnt down to ashes in no time.

The area in which fire spread is home to the Bheel community. Two huts also caught fire. Mohanlal, who tried to douse the fire, has received severe burns and has been rushed to the hospital. The entire area was in commotion due to massively growing fire. Three fire brigade vehicles were in constant action to prevent flames from spreading. The entire area is now covered in clouds of smoke.

Another fire burnt down 6000 hay stacks and destroyed 2 carts full of wood in Lapsiya village in Rajsamand. Fire brigade from Dariba and Rajsmand were somehow able to control fire that also burnt alive a 2 year old calf. Successful efforts by villagers prevented flames from reaching the other barns else there would have been a mass destruction.
