Parents protest against fee hike by St. Gregorious School
School fee hike invites parents' protest.
School fee hike has not been taken lightly by the students’ parents. As per reports, parents of students of St. Gregorious Senior Secondary School had a heated argument with school administration for about an hour on Friday regarding fee hike. As informed, the parents have accused St. Gregorious School for increasing the fees by 30 percent.

As per a member of the parent committee, it was initially decided that the school fees would be increased only after due discussion with the parents but it has been raised without any prior information. On the other hand, trustee of the school society said that the fee hike is based on government rules and it has been raised to an extent of 10 percent only. He also said that every year fees is raised for 10 months, but this year it has been raised for 9 months only. It was also informed by the trustee that parents have been given free will over the purchase of course books. They can buy books from anywhere. Tuition fee has been increased by 10 percent and no additional charges have been levied. The administration said that a 5-member parent committee has been called for discussion in this matter to be held with management committee.
