Children performing a play were taken aback when a policeman drove his bike among them when the play was being performed in No-Vehicle zone. To everybody’s shock, the policeman seemed indifferent towards the fact that the children could have been hurt while he also broke the rule of driving in the no-vehicle zone at Fatehsagar pal.
The children were scared for a few minutes as they didn’t expect such an ‘act’ by the police. It was really surprising that the policeman didn’t even bother and proudly drove his bike while the children were busy with their performance. One of the females present on the spot got injured because of the bike.
Another thing was noticed that a police jeep was also parked in the no-vehicle zone close to where the play was being performed. Citizens expressed their anguish over the fact that POLICE is overstepping law. First of all, parking their own vehicle in the no-vehicle zone and secondly driving among the children who are engrossed in performance.
If the saviours turn to breaking rules, what kind of a law and order are they going to maintain? Can they be expected to be heard when they themselves do not follow rules? A lot of policemen are seen driving on the wrong side of road as they want to avoid the big U-turn that any other citizen takes. To top it all, policemen do not wear helmets most of the time. When there is a limit of 2 riders on one two-wheeler, why are 3 policemen seen driving together and none with helmet? Is it that they are so fearless or is it that being a police keeps accidents away from them? Police men have also been seen using mobile phones while driving a 2-wheeler. Seems rules are not meant for them.
