Postal Employees Protest outside CollectorateAddressing the Prime-Minister and demanding action in favor of their 8 point demand letter, Rural Postal Services employees marked a procession and protested in front of the collectorate today. The crowd burned an effigy of Kapil Sibbal, Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology.

Rural Postal Services Employees demanded the following in their letter:

· According to the recommendations of Justice Talwar Committee, Rural Postal Services employees must be given the status of Civil Service Employees

· To increase the bonus of Rural Postal Employees from 2500/- to 3500/-

· Grace Recruitment must be applied on all Rural Postal Employees

· New rules on recruitment of rural postal employees to postman/group D (M.T.S.) must be taken back, 25% outside recruitment plan must be abolished, old recruitment rules must be applied

· Abolishment of the post of Rural postal services employees must be stopped and new recruitments must be carried out

· To apply recommendations of the V. P. Singh, DDG (Establishment ) Committee for Postal Department

· To start as soon as possible, the National Health Insurance Program (R.S.B.Y)

· To apply recommendations of 6th pay commission for the part time and casual workers

In this Procession, Narayan lal Paneri (President), Chandraveer Singh Ahada (Secretary), Bhagwan Paliwal, Roshan lal Meena, and large number of Rural Postal Service Employees were present.
