An argument broke out between the owner of a newly constructed complex at Keshav Nagar and caretakers of a place of worship after the priest alleged the builders for dismantling some part of the platform of the nearby devra.

However the construction company Vinayak Builders have declined the allegation and said that the dismantling was done by UIT for constructing sewage. Interestingly, a UIT official who visited the place said that he didn’t know anything about the whole matter.

According to Ashwin Ranka, priest of the Devra, few days ago they lodged a complaint against Vinayak Builders for damaging some part of the platform of devra located in front of a complex Vinayak Residency. The builders were notified by police for not causing any harm to the place of worship.

But today, they noticed that the adjacent road was dug for making a sewerage line. When inquired, the builder said that it was done by UIT.

The priest and his family objected on the sewerage line and called police. Subsequently an officer, Chatarsingh Chouhan from UIT also came to the spot and checked the condition.

Chouhan was asked to show the order of constructing sewerage line but he could not convince the priest and said that he’s new in the department and will ask the senior officials.

Meanwhile one of the owners of Vinayak Builders, Naresh Bhula said, “The whole episode is unreasonable as we never wanted to dismantle the place of worship, neither we required any sewage line near the devra.”

Bhula told media that if the priest wants, they can take the whole worshipping area under their care.

The devra is devoted to local deities and is more than a century old. Since then, Ranka family is taking care of the place.
