Members of the Private Schools Directors and Management Association conducted a silent march to express their protest over many loopholes in the RTE and Fee Act which will bind private school management to a number of complications.
The District’s 742 private schools might get affected by the new regulations that force schools to increase their fee structure in three years and that too, only after getting permission from the Education Committee.
Till now, private schools used to increase their fees every year or according to their own internal systems.
To protest against the government decision, many private schools of the State, including those of Udaipur remained closed today.
Under the direction of Jitesh Shrimali, President of Private Schools Directors and Management Association, the group conducted a silent march while wearing black armbands and gathered outside the Collectorate.
Besides the issue of fees and RTE, several other problems were stated in the Memorandum to the Collector, which included restarting Class 8th board and changing the admission date from April to July. The Association also asked government to give them right to inculcate a fear of punishment to the students so that they adhere to and learn discipline.
Heads of many schools including Scholar’s Arena, Seedling Public School, St. Anthony, M.D.S, Vidya Bhawan Society and institution Directors from Badgaon, Salumber, Sarada, Gogunda, Mavli, Vallabhnagar and Bhindar were present in the protest rally.
The members have decided to go for a statewide protest in Jaipur if their demands were not heard.
