Professor Sudha Chowdhary, Head of Department of Pilosophy has made a written complaint to the Governor of Rajasthan on the exclusion of her name from the committee constituted by the administration of Mohan Lal Sukhadia University towards inquiry of charges of misconduct against Vijay Shrimali, a Professor at the College of Commerce and Management Studies, MLSU.

A copy of the complaint has also been forwarded by her to the State Women’s Commission, where she has raised objections on the removal of her name from the investigating committee.  She has also sent a copy of the order, No. F.Gen/MLSU/2016/1916 dated 30th September 2016, which had her name mentioned on it.

Professor Shrimali had earlier been reprimanded for having slapped a student on the use of firecrackers and fireworks during a birthday celebration.  A written complaint was submitted against him, alleging misconduct with girl students in the College and claiming objectionable behavior by Shrimali.

Following this incident, an inquiry committee had been constituted, having the name of Prof Sudha as one of the members.

Later, Prof Shrimali had objected to her name being included in the committee, citing ideological differences between them, and also objecting to her being in the committee, as she was junior to him.  This prompted the Vice Chancellor to issue another order, this time dropping her name from the investigating committee.

The Governer, who is also the Chancellor of MLSU, has been given a written complaint on the above matter, where Prof Sudha has, in her statement given to the media, said that she has strong objections to her name being dropped from the committee citing her being a junior, while at the same time, another panel member, who is further junior to herself, has been included in the panel.  She cited gender discrimination in her complaint.
